AMERICA ON THE MOVE...

If you had visited the National Museum of American History back in the 1990's you would have seen a silver 1948 Tucker, which was displayed in a room full of automobilia, concept car designs from the '50s, and other oddities.  Returning to the museum on a cold, but sunny day, I was fully expecting to warm right up seeing the old Tucker again, as they had recently unveiled their new "America on the Move" exhibit... To my amazement, the Tucker was nowhere to be found.  But then, as I walked through this wonderful gallery of artifacts, stories, and vehicles, it became clear why they didn't include it.  The exhibit is not really about the automobile per se, but rather it paints the much bigger picture of the impact transportation has had in shaping the nation we live in today.... Fascinating stuff, indeed, and all of it is displayed in a first class manner.  Here's a sampling of what you may see if you decide to visit... Best of all, it's free!  For more info, visit The Smithsonian Institute.
