Back in the 70's, one of the biggest names in the St. Louis car scene was "Holley"... He owned a rod and custom shop in the city, and cranked out some show stoppers, including a chopped '38 Jaguar sedan that was known by car guys throughout the Midwest. He also hosted some of the early big indoor winter shows, even before the whole ISCA thing caught on.  Sadly, early this summer, he passed away while moving into his  new shop.  As is often the case, he passed along his passion for cars to his sons, who held a sort of "private" estate sale, to make sure this stuff went to good homes... Here are a few pics.  Just so you know what you're looking at, that hearse is a '49 Buick, while the Moving Van was a 1936 (or so) Ford, with a Lincoln Zephyr front clip... The first boat is an early Chris Craft, complete with it's Chrysler HEMI Marine engine, although I'm not sure exactly what the other boat is... The Cord also was being built with a Hemi, and was going to be a truck(!), although for a while, Holley had originally planned on making it a dual cowl phaeton... Now that would have been plenty cool... The old Flxible bus (No, for the unititiated, that is NOT a misspelling!) was used for storing automobilia, toys, and such, while the other pics kind of speak for themselves.   The close ups of the boxes are actually old Hemi parts stored in a trailer with OOODLES, and OOODLES of other Hemi parts.... Eat your hearts out, you Mopar guys.  I suspect they're all gone by now... Holley definitely had good taste, and he will be missed by everyone in the St. Louis car scene.  Above all, he was just a super-nice guy who everyone liked... Wouldn't we all want to be remembered that way?
